This project is a twelve-foot long ash table with stainless steel ball-chain edge with a matching bench. It was designed as a winning entry for ‘Wonder Woman’ and selected from a field of entries in an international design competition sponsored by Dune, New York. It is available through Dune Furniture, New York, NY. The Waterfall Table can be seen in the headquarters of fashion label THEORY in Manhattan's meatpacking district. An Offsite Exhibition during ICFF at the 69th Regiment Armory
New York, NY: January 2004
Every year, Dune commissions designers whose innovation and overall excellence speak to the standard and purpose of our studio. The 2004 Dune collection, Wonder Women, is designed entirely by women. This select group of innovators will be exhibiting all new designs prototyped by Dune for this momentous occasion. This year Dune’s collection will feature works by a broad spectrum of designers, from emerging talent to celebrated designers who have had immeasurable impact on design. Participating designers and architects include Eva Zeisel, Laurene Leon-Boym, Laurinda Spear, Matali Crasset, Emanuela Frattini Magnusson, Ana Mir, Camila Vega, Victoria Meyers, Winka Dubbeldam, Monica Nicoletti, Sarah Fels, and Yeon Soo Song.
Wonder Women will be presented in an offsite exhibition running concurrently with New York’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair, May 15 – 17, 2004. Held at the 69th Regiment Armory, a historical 30,000 square foot venue, in the heart of Gramercy, the show promises to be one of the largest, most noteworthy design events this year. There will be an opening night reception and a two-day long exhibit featuring the collection. Since 1996, Dune has risen to become one of the most celebrated contemporary furniture design studios and manufacturers in the world. Each year Dune presents a new collection by some of the most noteworthy designers around the world. The collection has garnered such awards as ICFF Editor’s Award for Best New Designer and Best Textile, as well a nomination for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award. Previous exhibits have included Urburbia; the Fifth Anniversary Collection, featuring work by Tom Dixon; Nick Dine; Michael Solis; Fabien Baron; and Claesson Koivisto Rune; and Made in New York, a collection of works by Nick Dine.
