hMa’s commitment to quality building goes back to the firm’s roots, designing unique, award-winning projects based on the principles of nature, innovative materials and details, and cutting-edge technologies.

hMa is an internationally recognized design firm that has designed and constructed buildings known for their memorable image, material and structural precision, and inventive spatial qualities. They have designed buildings and spaces at numerous scales, from individual clients to educational institutions and private organizations to large and innovative residential neighborhoods applying state-of-the-art, cutting-edge green technologies. Their work is recognized with numerous awards and publications, and they have designed one of the most important residential communities in the world; the North Neighborhood of Battery Park City in New York, the world’s first sustainably designed high-rise residential neighborhood. hMa’s work was critical in assisting their clients, Battery Park City Authority, to earn the 2010 Heritage Award for this project (only one Heritage Award is given each year). Recent projects include Infinity Chapel in Greenwich Village (AIA NY State Design Award, 2011), Won Dharma Center in upstate New York (AIANY Chapter Design Award, 2013), and the LEED Gold Certified Battery Park City Community Center (Honored Finalist Architizer A+ Awards, 2015).
