project: Ash 4 Ways Dining Table location: New York, NY date: completed 2005 contact: hMa hanrahanMeyers architects Ash 4 Ways is a Manhattan apartment where ash is used in four different states of finish within a minimalist white envelope. The apartment finishes are primarily ash, with different finishes. The floor is 3 1/2" wide oak plank. Ash 4 Ways features ash in four different states: white finished, sandblasted ash (wall panels); sand-blasted, acid washed and wire-brush scrubbed ash with high gloss white finish (bedroom furniture); natural finish ash door panels; and natural hand-rubbed, wax finished 5” thick wood from ancient ash trees, are the primary materials in the space. The Ash 4 Ways Coffee table / bed is a 4' x 4' ash coffee table that converts into a bed.
